The beautiful bones of this home really guided the approach to how it was designed. The owners chose the home for its soft details, we followed that inspiration and kept the colors and fabrics light and inviting. The simplicity of the fabrics paired with strong details and lines in the furniture kept with the timeless, classic feeling of the open first floor. Warm wood finishes and metal helped to create a balance between the darker furniture in the adjoining room. The windows really tied it together: their natural, woven wood shades picked up the whitewash color of the paneled ceiling, the drapery fabric brought in more color, and the drapery hardware carried the metal details from the coffee table and bar cabinet up the wall. Each piece was carefully selected to keep with the feel and dimensions of the space and for details that tied it to the rest of the first floor. Having the patience to let the design unfold in phases really paid off!
